Cordial Craft Wine, Beer and Spirits at the District Wharf is focused on making local, artisanal libations available to all. Think mom-and-pop vineyards, groups of friends making small batches of craft brews and tasty spirits that aren't backed by multi-million dollar ad campaigns. These are the sorts of beverages that Cordial will proudly stock. We have intimate relationships with our suppliers and take pride in supporting small and local producers.

"Small is the new big." wrote, Eric Rohleder when he founded the original Cordial Craft Wines in Union Market.
Cordial is not your typical mass market beer & wine shop. While we respect all brands, it’s our passion to help bring smaller producers to the marketplace through our valuable relationships with independent importers and boutique distributors. It's this philosophy that powered Eric's tiny shop to be named among Food and Wine magazine's top wine stores in 2015.
In June 2019, Cordial's location at the District Wharf was sold to Chuck Waldmann, an industry professional who made his way through the ranks as a wine, beer and spirits buyer for some of the largest wine retailers in the U.S.
If you asked him how he got into the wine business, however, he'd tell you it's by studying Medieval history and theology as an undergrad followed by years of waiting tables in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio.
And while he's worked for larger organizations, his passion has always been promoting wines, beer and spirits from small, family-run producers who maintain a connection to the soil and to their craft.
